Keeping you informed
There are a number of ways you can find out about the things that matter to you. You may just want to sit back and catch up on the important things or maybe you like to get into the detail? You might want to check how we're performing, find out about things that might affect you or see how decisions are being made? We try to make sure there's a way to get the information you're after, in a way that suits you.
General news and updates
Derby Homes News
What to do: This will get posted out to you every three months. We try to make sure there's a mix of information in each edition. Some things will be important and relate to service changes or issues. We include information about how we're performing, but also some personal interest stories from the areas we manage. You can find recent issues online at Derby Homes News.
The newsletter is limited by space and because it only gets sent out four times a year, we're unable to put anything in it that's really timely. Think of it as a summary of important information, with some longer term events and neighbourhood news thrown in. If you have any ideas about what you'd like to see, let us know at [email protected].
Email newsletter
We use email as a more effective, timely way of keeping you up to date. It means we can give you information that's more relevant to you, which can be difficult to do in a printed newsletter. If you've given us your current email address, you should expect to receive an email from us once in a while so we can keep you up to date on things that might affect you. We promise not to send you too much and you can always unsubscribe at any time.
SMS text messages
We us text messages to send you short bits of information. This is usually for things you need to know, like repair appointments and reminders, but can also be for urgent or important alerts.
Online
We publish major news and stories to our website in the News section.
How are we performing?
You can find out how we're performing in the Performance section of our website.
Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSMs)
From 1 April 2023 all registered providers of social housing need to collect and publish a range of comparable information on areas such as repairs, safety checks and complaints. These are known as the Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSMs). They are part of the Regulator of Social Housing’s (RSH) wider programme of work to develop proactive consumer regulation of the social housing sector.
The new TSMs will enable tenants to scrutinise their landlord’s performance, give landlords insight about where they can improve, and provide a source of intelligence to the Regulator of Social Housing about whether landlords are meeting regulatory standards.
There are 22 measures in total. Ten of these are figures measured directly by the landlord. The remaining twelve are measured by carrying out perception surveys.
Annual report
Each year, along with our Financial Statements, we produce an annual report aimed at customers. You can find the most recent and historic annual reports here: Annual Report and Financial Statements
Decisions, board meeting and reports
Derby Homes is run by a board. You can find information about our meetings, agendas, reports and minutes and read more detailed information about our Board Members on our external site: Committee Management Information System (CMIS).
Local information and events
There are also a range of physical ways we keep people informed. This could be verbally, if we visit you or see you in the street or at local consultations and events we hold on estates or parks. Perhaps you've seen our engagement van near you? Some of our blocks of flats or common rooms also have notice boards with information specific to that building. We may also send letters out to you or specific groups of people if we need to tell you about something that wouldn't suit being on a notice board.
